  REGISTRATION CANCELLATIONS

Notification of cancellation must be sent in writing to the Conference Secretariat Destrée Organisation by e-mail or by fax.

All refunds will be processed after the Summer Session.

 

For cancellations between 26 February and 10 March 2018,

the cancellation fee = 25% of total amount paid or due.

 

For cancellations between 11 March and 31 March 2018,

the cancellation fee = 50% of total amount paid or due.

 

For cancellations after 31 March 2018 and for No-Shows,

the cancellation fee = 100% of total amount paid or due.

For name substitutions, a processing fee of 50,00 EUR will be charged.

 

  VAT REFUND

  • EU Participants
  • Since 1 January 2010 the procedure for reimbursement of VAT incurred by EU taxable persons in Member States where they are not established has been replaced by a new fully electronic procedure, thereby ensuring a quicker refund to claimants. Taxable persons should therefore log in to their own fiscal administration website in order to reclaim VAT paid on registration fees.
  • Non-EU Participants

Taxpayers established in third countries who are not carrying out commercial activities in Latvia, are eligible to claim VAT refund in Latvia under a strict parity basis. At this moment, refund is made to taxpayers registered in Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Monaco.

If the application relates to a period of one calendar year, the refund application shall be submitted to the Latvian VAT Authorities not later than by 30 September of the calendar year following the refund period. If the refund period is shorter than one calendar year (but not shorter than three last months of the calendar year) the refund application shall be filed within three months after the end of refunding period indicated in the application.

VAT on invoices for registration fees to the conference issued in 2018 can be claimed for a refund until 30 September 2019 at the latest.

The application must include:

  • information relating to every invoice issued in domestic territory;
  • the original copy of the tax invoice(s) as well as the documents confirming payment;
  • a statement (original copy) issued by the tax authority of the relevant country which certifies that in the refund period the applicant was a registered taxpayer outside the EU territory (the statement is valid 12 months from the date of issue);
  • if submitted by representative, the original copy of the power of attorney.

The tax amount claimed must not be less than EUR 400, if the refund period is less than one calendar year. It must not be less than EUR 50, if the refund period is one calendar year or three last months of calendar year.
